18 weeks.... It's A.....

I have been so busy these last few weeks and we've been in the middle of moving and going to Utah so I haven't been keeping up on my weekly posts! I have made it to that point!!!! We got to find out the sex of the baby!!!! Nick took the day off so he was able to go with me and I'm SO GLAD! Its an hour and a half drive to the doctor and this is one I didn't want him to miss!
My whole life I've only pictured myself with girls and even when I wasn't pregnant, everytime I saw a little girl with bows in her hair, I would get SO excited and just picture myself with my own little girl with hair I can put cute bows in! Well at our first ultrasound, after Nick and I saw the baby for the first time, We both had this HUGE feeling we were having a boy.  I was a little bummed, but for the past few months I've been looking and paying attention to mostly boy stuff. All my thoughts were of this little boy running with a football, playing with his daddy and I was actually really excited to have a boy. We had a boy name picked out and I just KNEW I was having a boy because I wanted a girl SO BAD! (and we can't decide on a girl name) Wednesday morning, Oct. 3rd, I woke up and I was SO EXCITED to be FINALLY finding out what our baby really was! All morning I kept picturing that moment when the tech would tell us what 'it' was and if I was going to be coming home telling Roxy is she was getting a brother or a sister! (Yes, we talk to our dog like she's a human! ;) Well I kept having thoughts, more than ever before, that it was a girl. I kept telling myself, no cuz I didn't want to get my hopes up. Well I went and put Roxy in her kennel and I had a feeling I was coming home and telling her she was getting a sister!!  I kept my thoughts to myself and on the LONG drive to the doctors Nick and I kept tossing ideas around and I still said... I think its a boy.  We got to the doctors and we were taken back and after about 15 mins of doing the measurements and having us watch the screen not have  A CLUE what we were looking at and making sure everything looked good.. the ultrasound tech FINALLY said... "Ok, have I made you wait long enough? Do you want to know what you're having?!" Of course we both said yes!!! She showed us the legs and then pointed to in between them and said... I don't see anything there... ITS A GIRL!!! Tears started rolling down my face! I couldn't believe it! I was SO EXCITED!! Nick was holding my hand and I looked over at him and squeezed it. He looked at me and smiled and had a look of 'aw crap' on his face! Fifteen more mins went by and she showed us all of the parts and said everything looked good and then she double checked and said... "its still a girl" Nick thought he would be funny and said.. "Dang it! It didn't change" LOL! He was really excited but kinda sad at the same time cuz he really wanted a boy. Its been a couple days and it has sunk in and now he is REALLY excited to be having a girl!! He just says his life is going to be VERY stressful!!! haha!
